Bang & Olufsen Beolab 90 Titan Edition: Flagship Speakers for the 100th Anniversary

On the eve of its centenary, the legendary Danish brand Bang & Olufsen unveiled something truly special. Their exclusive Atelier division decided to reimagine their flagship speaker system, revealing its true essence and creating a unique work of art. This is the Beolab 90, now available in a limited-edition Titan Edition.

This version is a true hymn to material honesty. Atelier's designers took a bold step: they completely removed the acoustic fabrics and protective veils that concealed the structure. A massive, hand-finished, 65-kilogram aluminum frame is revealed. This isn't just a speaker; it's a sculpture.

To give the aluminum frame its unique character, its surface was specially treated with fine particles of crushed volcanic rock. The result is a rough, textured finish that contrasts sharply with the perfectly polished base panels, which are mirror-like in shine. This is no accident. It creates a striking visual illusion, as if the entire colossal structure is floating in mid-air.

The devil, as they say, is in the details, and in the Titan Edition, attention to detail has been paramount. Every element here is a testament to the highest level of craftsmanship:

• Top panel: It is machined from a solid block of aluminum, a process that takes a full 12 hours of continuous milling.
• Speakers: Each low-frequency driver is surrounded by a very thin aluminum ring, and special grooves around them are designed to literally emit “sound waves.”
• Fasteners: Even the screws have been transformed into a design element. Each one is polished and engraved with "1925"—the year Bang & Olufsen was founded.

Beneath this masterpiece lies the same uncompromising technological engineering as the original 2015 model, which remains the brand's flagship. Each speaker houses 18 handcrafted drivers, controlled by advanced digital signal processors (DSP) and beamforming technology. The total power output reaches a staggering 8,200 watts per speaker. This system is capable of creating a perfectly precise "sweet spot" for a single listener, as well as unleashing a full 360-degree soundscape for a large group.

"This edition is more than just a celebration of our heritage. It showcases the level of craftsmanship and personalization that only Bang & Olufsen can deliver," says CEO Christian Thear. "It's a bold statement about what's possible when art, technology, and vision come together."

The Titan Edition model opens a series of five exclusive creations that Atelier will release for the centenary. Each one will be a unique collector's edition of the Beolab 90. Pricing for the new model has not yet been announced, but given that a standard pair of Beolab 90s costs $211,800, it's safe to assume that the price for the limited titanium version will be significantly higher.
