In anticipation of the Pre-Fall 2026 collection, Creative Director Peter Copping turned not only to the archives of the House of Lanvin, but to the very essence of its founder, Jeanne Lanvin. He embarked on an extraordinary journey through time, essentially recreating Jeanne's legendary trip to Venice in the 1920s with her beloved niece, Marianne. This immersion into the past allowed Copping not only to understand but also to recapture the cosmopolitan spirit and insatiable curiosity that always drove Jeanne and defined her work.
Jeanne Lanvin was never a static figure; her life and work were imbued with dynamism, exploration, and constant movement. A trip to Venice with Marianne became more than just a vacation for the designer, but a profound immersion into a world of observation, where she found extraordinary beauty in the most seemingly ordinary things. It was this century-long journey, filled with impressions and discoveries, that Peter Copping decided to retrace, step by step exploring the very places that once inspired Jeanne.

This gives the bag even greater versatility and luxury.
Footwear is also shifting its focus toward everyday practicality without losing its chic appeal. The iconic Midnight Step mules have received a fresh update: their sculpted heel is now crafted from wood, making them ideal for daytime wear. This thoughtful change seamlessly integrates elegance into the fast pace of modern life, offering comfort and style without compromise.
The atmosphere of the presentation and a look into the future
To create an atmosphere worthy of such a profound collection, Peter Copping commissioned the renowned photography duo Chaumont–Zaerpour. Their work perfectly captured the collection's distinctive thoughtfulness and introspectiveness. The images offer a striking contrast: the autumnal atmosphere of Paris's Parc Monceau meets dramatic studio lighting inspired by archival photographs from the 1930s. This creates a unique visual narrative, full of depth and nuance.
The collection presentation was quiet, atmospheric, and focused exclusively on womenswear. However, this is only a prelude to things to come. Next year, the Lanvin fashion house is preparing to celebrate the centenary of menswear, and it's safe to say that this conversation about heritage and innovation will be far more vocal and widespread.
