Mugler: "Wardrobe of Identities" – A New Chapter under the Direction of Miguel Castro Freitas
The fashion house Mugler is opening a new chapter. Miguel Castro Freitas, having taken over as creative director, presented his debut vision for the brand's future in the Spring/Summer 2026 pre-collection. The project, given a metaphorical name, Wardrobe of Identities, explores the idea of clothing not as static objects, but as a living, ever-changing substance – a wardrobe that is in constant motion and evolution.
Freitas boldly embraces the house's legacy, preserving its renowned architectural power while infusing it with entirely new dynamic codes. The collection juxtaposes two opposites: a rigid, precise structure and an almost weightless, airy lightness. This tension gives birth to a new harmony.
Sculptural cuts, as if carved from stone, enter into a dialogue with delicate, flowing fabrics – satin and jersey.
Mugler's signature silhouettes are reimagined. The accentuated, exaggerated shoulders and iconic hourglass waist are not simply a nod to the archives, but a way to express a sharp, contemporary sense of form that balances the classic and the avant-garde. Each piece is designed to be both a recognizable element of the brand's DNA and a step into its future.

The visual embodiment of this complex concept was the work of the stellar duo: photographer Reto Schmid and stylist Robbie Spencer. Their work is more than just a collection of photographs, but a profound exploration of the concept of the multiple personalities that reside within each of us. We are constantly changing, trying on different roles. This is our reality.
Model Libby Bennett is the face of the campaign. She embodies in the images the freedom of transformation that the designer insists on. Her image is a celebration of duality, refined playfulness, and the full acceptance of one's right to be different. The entire campaign is imbued with an atmosphere of quiet, almost elusive metamorphosis. It's reminiscent of a film where the protagonist is constantly evolving, and it's this cinematic quality, according to the creators, that perfectly captures the essence of modern existence.

Brand fans can already mark the date on their calendars. Coveted pieces from the new collection are expected to go on sale in December 2025. They will be available both on the official Mugler website and in select boutiques worldwide.
