Laetitia Casta received a late diagnosis: what disorder does the star have?

Actress and supermodel Laetitia Casta recently spoke about her condition.

The 44-year-old star made several confessions to the publication El on the occasion of the production of the play “Clara Haskil, Prelude and Fugue” at the La Michodière theater in Paris. She said she was suffering from dyslexia since childhood, but the disease was not diagnosed in time. “My brain was wired in a weird way that thankfully doesn’t show up in my work, but in my personal life I have a way of talking and getting angry that irritates everyone.”

Dyslexia is a neurological learning dysfunction that begins in childhood. It has been noticed with babies that they speak later and cannot pronounce words correctly. They also have a harder time learning to write and read than other children.

Find reasons to laugh as often as possible

“I look for and find opportunities to laugh at myself, it cancels everything out,” said the French star, who is currently married to Louis Garrel, the French actor and director. “And I have the chance to live with the funniest man in the world,” Casta said of her life partner, to whom she has been married since 2017. They have a child together. Laetitia Casta also has three children from other relationships. For his part, Louis Garrel has another daughter, whom he adopted with his former partner.

At the same time, the star said that she herself would make her loved ones laugh, but not necessarily wanting it. “Some things escape me, and only then do I understand why I said or did something funny.” The star believes that this is due to dyslexia, which she had since childhood and which was not detected in time.

The actress is highly regarded for her role as pianist Clara Haskil: “Listening to her, I caught the differences between her interpretations and those of other pianists. At first I was not aware of these things, but over time I discovered how special her music was and how subtle her interpretation was,” Casta testified. The play was also presented twice at the Sibiu International Theater Festival this year.
