SHUSHU/TONG x ASICS GEL-KINETIC FLUENT: A Bold Collaboration with an Architectural Bow

In a new collaboration that's already made waves, Shanghai-based brand SHUSHU/TONG and tech giant ASICS SportStyle are once again blurring the boundaries between worlds. They've presented a bold interpretation of a classic sports silhouette, in which strict geometry and functionality enter into an unexpected dialogue with deliberately romantic elements. The result is impressive.

This collaboration is far from the first chapter in their collaborative story, which continues to explore the intersection of hyper-feminine aesthetics and cutting-edge sports innovation. This time, the GEL-KINETIC FLUENT model became the canvas for creative experimentation. Its technological base proved the perfect platform for SHUSHU/TONG's signature, almost doll-like style, while maintaining the uncompromising functionality inherent to ASICS. The resulting concept strives to express duality: soft yet strong; structured yet romantic.

The bow motif became the key element of the design, its visual and semantic center. But forget about naive tenderness.

Here, the bow is transformed from a modest decoration into a powerful, exaggerated architectural element. It's multi-layered, oversized, and, most importantly, functionally integrated directly into the lacing system, becoming an integral part of it rather than just decoration. The goal of this bold transformation is to strip the bow of its usual childish aura, imbuing it with character, strength, and even a touch of daring. The finishing touch is a three-dimensional 3D logo, delicately placed on the tongue of the sneaker.

However, behind all this complex and bold styling lies the technological core we've come to expect from the engineering genius of ASICS. At the core of the design is a sophisticated forefoot that provides the necessary flexibility during movement. And for unrivaled comfort, the famous combination of the sole: proprietary GEL technology works in tandem with foam FOAM in the midsole. This combination effectively absorbs shock and ensures a springy return with every step.

The collection is presented in two completely different versions, each with its own unique story, character and materials.

• First, Red-black, plays on contrasting textures: velvety suede sits alongside smooth leather and breathable mesh. Bright red accents on the heel add just the right amount of drama and aggression.
• The second version, Silver, is a true leap into the future. It's crafted almost entirely from futuristic metallic leather, creating a liquid metal effect, and looks completely monolithic and otherworldly, while maintaining clean lines.
