Pierce Brosnan fined for walking in Yellowstone's restricted area!

He did it! Pierce Brosnan (70) pleaded guilty in a trial in which he was accused of passing through a restricted area in Yellowstone Park in the US. A penalty was also chosen.

Pierce Brosnan initially said he was innocent

The legendary Hollywood actor, worth $200 million, was fined $500 and ordered to make a $1,000 donation to an organization that cares for Yellowstone. The hike in question took place in November last year, and at first Pierce Brosnan maintained that he was innocent, reports the British tabloid Daily Mail.

According to court documents filed Thursday, Pierce pleaded guilty to one of two counts of illegal hiking after he tried to take a closer look at the legally protected hot springs in the Mammoth Terraces section of the park.

Mammoth Terraces are a popular Yellowstone attraction that constantly changes color. Federal regulations state that visitors to national parks must stay on designated trails. Leaving the promenade is punishable by up to six months in prison and a fine of up to $5,000, so the actor got off fairly lightly.

In January, Brosnan pleaded not guilty and said he did not pass by the hot springs in Yellowstone National Park, despite being photographed standing in the protected area at the time of the alleged crime.

A personal photo posted by the James Bond star himself at the gate. Snow hot springs are fragile. If they are damaged, they could take years to repair, experts say. Brosnan is the latest tourist to try to break the rules in Yellowstone Park. There have been cases where tourists have fallen into them and died because the water is unusually hot. At least 22 people died from burns sustained in Yellowstone's springs and geysers.

Among them is Colin Nathaniel Scott, who is believed to have "dissolved" in the hot acidic water of a hot spring near the Norris Geyser Basin.
