Diego Armando Maradona was born on October 30, 1960 in Lanus, Argentina, but grew up in Villa Fiorito, a suburb south of Buenos Aires. At the age of 10, he was discovered while playing for Estrella Roja and ended up playing for Buenos Aires club Argentinos Juniors' youth team before being acquired by Boca Juniors.

Diego Maradona died on November 25 as a result of cardiovascular arrest in Buenos Aires.
