The American manufacturer, who boasts a net worth of $75 million, asked them to do this because he wanted to keep his $200 Nike Air Jordan sneakers, which are part of a collection that has not yet been released to the general public, Page Six reports.

In the video, Khaled opened his car door as he arrived at the 2024 South Beach Wine and Food Festival, looked down at the tarmac and waved to his security team. “I don’t want to get my Jordans dirty. You can help me? Thank you my brothers. I appreciate it!" - he can be heard telling the bodyguards. Then two men approached him, picked him up and carried him in their arms. The pictures went viral, and DJ Khaled was criticized even by his fans.

Although it was most likely an advertisement, DJ Khaled was told that he had "diva" traits and that he did not respect his customers. Other people sympathized with the guards: "These people don't get paid enough for this." Another person joked: "These people fought hard to get it."

Khaled rose to fame in the 2000s. He started working in record stores, helping artists like Lil Wayne and Birdman with their careers before they became famous. Khaled also hosted a radio show with Luther Campbell. Throughout his career, he has worked on rap and hip-hop albums for famous stars such as Drake, Demi Lovato and Rihanna.
