Bad news for Placido Domingo fans! The artist was diagnosed with bronchitis and is postponing concerts in Romania

Bad news for fans of Spanish tenor Placido Domingo. The diagnosis of bronchitis forces him to take a period of vocal rest of at least 10 days. The opera singer announced that he will not be able to give concerts planned this month in Bucharest and Cluj.

According to news.ro, Placido Domingo has scheduled concerts for February 23 at the BT Arena in Cluj-Napoca. Shortly thereafter, on February 26, the Spanish tenor scheduled a concert at the Palatului Hall in Bucharest, which sold out. Both performances have been postponed.

“I am terribly sad that I have to postpone this time, especially because of the inconvenience it causes to everyone who has already planned to come to the concerts. The meetings are just being postponed, and we are already looking for new dates to hold them,” Placido Domingo told his fans, according to a quoted source.

Romanians who bought tickets to the opera singer's concerts received good news from the organizers. They confirmed that the tickets will not lose their validity and can be used for the rescheduled release.

Placido Domingo was diagnosed with bronchitis.

The Spanish tenor was scheduled to appear on stage with Adela Zacharia and the Wallachian Symphony Orchestra. Spanish conductor Jordi Bernaser was scheduled to take the podium. Placido Domingo recorded more than one hundred complete operas during his career. The artist is known for his ability to sing in several languages, such as Italian, French, Russian, English and, of course, Spanish.

He has 150 roles in his repertoire, a feat that no other person could match. During his incredible career, Placido Domingo has won no less than 12 Grammy Awards. The 83-year-old artist has performed on the world's biggest stages, thanks to which he enjoys great international recognition.
