Earlier this week, Gomez was spotted in public at an NBA game in New York. The actress is currently living there while filming the third season of Martin Short's hit series Only Murders in the Building.
In December 2021, Gomez spoke to reporters at a Rare Beauty event about how she has become more accepting of her natural beauty.
The actress also admitted that she struggled with self-doubt, partly caused by her time as a child star.
“I have been using cosmetics since I was seven years old. I feel like I'm insecure," she said. “You are so young, and then you work. Professionals did my makeup. Suddenly I could look 25 years old when I was only 16, and it was crazy. Then I felt: oh, I look too young all the time. I should get more. I have to try this. It just made me question my beauty."
Selena Gomez has been an advocate for self-acceptance in recent years.
She added that she created her brand Rare Beauty for those who doubt their appearance.
“I became a victim of the desire to change my face. To do something because I see such intense trends,” she continued.
“I think the most rewarding part of creating this line is that we're creating a space for people who don't necessarily want to do the work or change their face. They just want to accept who they are and what they have.”
After taking a break from the online world, Selena Gomez admitted that she focused more on accepting herself.
Gomez also recently released a documentary in which she talked about the difficulties she has faced in recent years. Unfortunately, she has struggled with depression and anxiety and now wants to help those suffering from emotional disorders. Selena is brutally honest with her fans, as well as those close to her, and she doesn't shy away from discussing her feelings.
