How to restore whiteness to pillows. A method to get rid of yellow spots!
Is your pillow yellowed and looks like you've been using it too long? With this method you can return it to its flawless whiteness. You just need a few products and a little patience!
The pillows you use may turn yellow for a number of reasons. This is often due to body sweat penetrating the pillow and affecting its color, as well as body oils. Exposure to direct sunlight is another cause of yellowing as the heat heats up and discolors the material. Whatever the reason, don't rush to change your pillows, but try this method that promises to help you regain your whiteness!
This method will make your pillows white again!
Luckily, you don't need many products to keep your pillows looking their best! You may already have some of them in your closets.
You need: 1 cup powdered laundry detergent, 1 cup powdered dishwasher detergent, 1 cup bleach, and 1/2 cup powdered borax (or sodium tetraborate).
Method: The first step is to check if your pillows are washable. You can see on their label whether the material allows this or not. If so, mix all the ingredients and place them in a pan of boiling water. Place the pillows in the mixture and leave in this solution for 30 minutes, then turn them over to the other side. After 30 minutes, select a full washing machine cycle and the extra rinse option. Place the cushions in the machine and let them dry. If the fabric allows, place the pillows in the dryer along with 2-3 dryer tennis balls. This method will make your pillows look like new!
