What is the connection between dry shampoos, antiperspirants and cancer?

Seemingly harmless dry shampoos and some antiperspirants may contain carcinogens. For example, one of the substances found in many dry shampoos is benzenecompound associated with various types of cancer.

Butane and benzene, potentially carcinogenic substances, are found in some antiperspirants and dry shampoos.

Experts warn us that chemicals such as butane and benzene have carcinogenic potential. Benzene found in dry shampoos has been linked to certain types of leukemia, such as myeloid and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Additionally, aluminum and butane are substances found in many deodorants on the market and have been linked to several types of cancer, such as breast and lung cancer. Manjot Marwah, an award-winning dermatologist from India, argues that it is not shampoos and antiperspirants themselves that increase the risk of cancer, but inhalation of harmful substances by spraying them in closed and unventilated areas. “The propellant used to make aerosol cans is a butane-based system. We used to make aerosol propellants with chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), but later it was discovered that CFCs affect the ozone layer and therefore they were banned,” the doctor added. Choose products with natural ingredients!

Instead of dry shampoo, choose a regular shampoo with natural ingredients and a gentle action. However, if you are in a hurry and need to wash your hair quickly, you can use dry shampoo, but do not overuse it and try to choose a dry shampoo with as few harmful ingredients as possible. Don't forget that if consumed in excess, it turns hair gray and may contribute to the development of certain types of cancer. When it comes to deodorants, avoid those that contain butane, aluminum, alcohol and parabens. Instead, choose deodorants with as natural ingredients as possible, preferably those found in drugstores.
