Secret message from Princess Kate Middleton. Who is it addressed to?

Since joining the royal family, the Princess of Wales has been involved in numerous charity campaigns. Kate Middleton recently made a plea to people struggling with addiction.

Kate Middleton takes part in the Action on Addiction campaign during Addiction Awareness Week in England. In a message filmed at Kensington Palace, the princess called addiction a “serious mental illness” and addressed those who have such a problem, reports people.com.

"Addiction is not a choice"

Here is the emotional message from the Princess of Wales:

“Know that addiction is not a choice. No one chooses to become addicted. I want you to know that this is also a serious health problem. Please don't let shame stop you from getting the help you so desperately need. Action on Addiction charities and others work across the country to change people's lives and help them get better and move on. I am here for you. So please seek help. I know it wasn't a conscious choice," she said in the video.

Mental health, one of the princess's concerns

Kate Middleton notes that addiction is a real health problem that should not be neglected.

“Addiction is a serious health problem that can happen to anyone, regardless of age, gender, race or nationality,” the princess said.

“Because the Forward Trust organization is under my patronage, I have met many people in a state of addiction. Attitudes towards addiction are changing, but we are still not where we should be in terms of acceptance and inclusion. Shame still stands in the way of many families, and they hesitate to seek help, and many even die.”
