We all want to have an ideal figure, and for this we want to know some tricks that will help us maintain the desired weight. Dr. Michaela Bilic reveals such secrets in one of her posts on Facebook.

“They say we'll never be thin enough... or rich enough! I'm not strong in finance, but I have a few recommendations for effective weight loss:

1.Pay attention to the amount of carbohydrates on your plate! The correct portion of flour should be the size of your palm, i.e. 1 slice of bread or 2-3 spoons of rice, pasta, potatoes. This is at every meal, if you do not have problems with your figure. If you want to lose weight, exclude flour products from dinner, after 18 hours, eat only proteins (meat, fish, eggs) and lots of vegetables.

2. The consistency of food affects the calorie content; sugar is more easily absorbed from liquid. All juices (even fresh ones), smoothies and pureed foods contribute to obesity. You are no longer babies, chew, don’t drink through a straw!

3. Glucose is absorbed faster when the stomach is empty, so avoid eating sweets or starchy foods at the beginning of your meal. Start with a salad or soup as an appetizer, and for the main course combine carbohydrates such as pasta, rice or potatoes with meat and vegetables. As for dessert, it is ideal to eat it at the end of the meal, the amount of sugar absorbed will be less!

4. The temperature at which a particular product is consumed affects calorie intake. Some of the starch contained in rice, pasta or potatoes recrystallizes when cooled and can no longer be absorbed from the intestines. Oriental salad, sushi rice and cold pasta are less complete.

5. Choose whole grains and flour products; the presence of fiber reduces the rate of glucose absorption. Pasta made from durum wheat has a low glycemic index, while rice has a high glycemic index. Whole grain bread has a glycemic index of 65, while white bread and rolls have a glycemic index of 100.
