In particular, these vegetables and greens contain vitamin C, manganese and folic acid, substances that support overall health and improve immune function. Moreover, due to their antioxidant content, their consumption promotes healing and recovery from injury. It should be noted that cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower also help strengthen the immune system.

Salmon

In the postoperative diet, it is recommended to eat fatty fish, such as salmon. It is a rich source of vitamin D, necessary for bone tissue repair and calcium fixation. Salmon also contains vitamin K, which prevents blood clots and promotes wound healing. What's more, research suggests that the omega-3 fatty acids found in salmon improve the immune system and may reduce inflammation.

After surgery, the body requires more protein than the recommended daily dose (10% daily diet). Depending on the type of surgery performed, the diagnosis and the type of activity you practice, it is important to add 60 to 100 grams of protein to your daily diet. Eggs are an excellent source of protein, with one (large) egg containing up to 50g of protein. In addition, whole eggs contain vitamins A and B12, iron, selenium and zinc - substances that play a vital role in the immune system.

Berries

Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries contain nutrients that help restore the body. The berries provide adequate amounts of vitamin C, which promotes wound healing by stimulating the production of collagen, an important protein in the body. In addition, these fruits contain antioxidants such as anthocyanins, which have anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects that support the immune system.
